Day Trips from paris

Reims (Champagne region)

Reims is only 40 minutes by train from Paris if you take the fastest TGV INOUI train, which makes for an easy day trip. With a stunning cathedral and countless champagne cellars to tour, Reims has a lot to offer for such a small city! We toured Veuve Clicquot (read more about our experience here) and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Partaking in a guided tour is a great way to visit champagne houses that are located in cities nearby Reims if you do not have a rental car or do not want to figure out transportation logistics on your own.

Mont Saint-Michel

We included this destination in our overnight stay in Bayeux, but there are many tour providers that offer day trip from Paris. It’s unique architecture and intriguing and tumultuous history make it one of the most visited destinations in France. Driving up to this Abbey from a distance was one of the most impressive sights from our entire trip. I recommend a guided tour since there are hundreds of years of history to highlight.

Normandy

Although we did this as an overnight trip based out of Bayeux, like Mont Saint-Michel, there are many tour providers who offer day trips from Paris. Normandy is renowned for its historical relevance, and I think everyone has something to gain from visiting regardless of where you come from. Whether you know much about WWII history or not, the tours are filled with information that appeals to everyone. Aside from Normandy’s historical significance, it offers beautiful scenery and coastlines.

Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris is only a 40-minute train ride from Paris. (I will be writing a future blog regarding details on our experience in the parks and how to plan your time there). If you aren’t a big Disney fan, I would recommend spending your time exploring Paris and other surrounding cities instead. If you love Disney, then Disneyland Paris is an easy and fun way to spend a day!
