Best Food In Florence, Italy
PIZZA
Fo'Caccia la Notte
Address: Via Giuseppe Verdi, 43, 50122 Firenze FI, Italy
This was my favorite spot for pizza when I studied abroad! It happened to be down the road from my apartment, so I stumbled across it one night when I was looking for a quick dinner. I ended up returning many times and even brought my family there when they came to visit. It's a hole in the wall (literally) - you can either order from the window for pizza to go, or there's a small area with a couple of tables if you'd like to sit. I highly recommend their pesto pizza!
Gustapizza
Address: Via Maggio, 46r, 50125 Firenze FI, Italy
Closed on Mondays

This pizza place is extremely popular, so expect to wait in a long line. There is limited seating inside so it's fun to order your pizza to go and eat along the river.
RESTAURANTS (reservations recommended)
L'Osteria di Giovanni
Address: Via del Moro, 22r, 50123 Firenze FI, Italy
Closed on Sundays
We ate here on my most recent trip to Italy, and I can easily say it’s my favorite restaurant that I have been to in Florence. The staff was wonderful and made us feel special the entire evening. It also felt like a much more local crowd than some of the other restaurants where I have eaten. They are famous for their Ribollita (traditional bread and vegetable soup), which ended up being my favorite food from our trip, even though it doesn't look very appetizing!
Osteria Santo Spirito
Address: Piazza Santo Spirito, 16/R, 50125 Firenze FI, Italy
Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

My aunt and uncle, who are seasoned Florence travelers, discovered this restaurant many years ago. Being located on the other side of the Arno River away from the city center of Florence gives it a quieter feeling than the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas in the city. They have wonderful food for very reasonable prices.
La Giostra
Address: Borgo Pinti, 10/18R, 50121 Firenze FI, Italy
Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
This restaurant is well-know amongst tourists, so it's not as "local" of a spot, but the food is delicious. If you are looking for a traditional Florentine steak, you can't go wrong with La Giostra! We ordered a few different entrees, but we all agreed that the steak was superior!
